Oil companies have clarified that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel and fuel prices will not increase, dismissing rumors circulating among the public.
Due to speculation that fuel prices may rise because of the ongoing war and its impact on global energy markets, vehicle owners have been rushing to petrol stations in several cities including Chennai and Coimbatore.
The sudden rush at fuel stations was triggered by misinformation suggesting that petrol and diesel supplies could become limited or that prices would increase soon.
In response, oil companies stated that fuel supply across the country remains stable and there is no need for panic buying.
They urged the public not to believe false rumors and assured that petrol and diesel availability at fuel stations is normal and prices will remain unchanged for now.
