KAHE emerges champion in 45th State Level PSG Trophy

The Department of Physical Education of PSG College of Arts & Science successfully conducted the 45th State Level Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Tournament for the PSG Trophy at the PSG CAS Volleyball Ground from 10.02.2026 to 12.02.2026.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from various colleges across the state, bringing together highly skilled players who competed with exemplary sportsmanship and determination. The matches were conducted in a knockout-cum-league format, ensuring a competitive and thrilling experience for both players and spectators.

After two days of very competitive and intensely fought volleyball matches, Bishop Heber College (BHC), Trichy, PSG College of Arts and Science(PSGCAS), Coimbatore, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore(KAHE) and Loyola (Loyola) College, Chennai made it to the last four. 

In the first semi final, KAHE started well. But BHC put up a great fight. Eventually, KAHE won the match 25-12, 25-22, 25-19. The second semi final between PSG CAS and Loyola was even more thrilling and the home side managed to seize the crucial moments to win 25-22, 25-23 and 25-21. Bishop Heber College got the better of Loyola College in the third place playoffs with a score of 25-13, 25-20, 25-15. In the all Coimbatore final, KAHE and PSG CAS showed great display of skill and strategy that enthralled the audience. KAHE beat the odds and emerged triumphant with a 25-21,25-21,25-17 win over PSG CAS. 

Shri.V.N.Thangamani, Secretary, Tirupur District Volleyball Association and an alumnus of PSG CAS was the Chief Guest for the Prize Distribution Ceremony. He congratulated all the participants for their commendable performance and sporting spirit.  Alongwith Dr. T. Kannaian, Secretary, and Dr. M. Jayanthi, Principal, PSG College of Arts & Science, he presented the certificates and the prestigious PSG Trophy to the winners and the other prize winners.  

The 45th State Level Inter Collegiate Volleyball Tournament, PSG Trophy concluded on a memorable note and reaffirmed commitment of PSG CAS in promoting sports excellence and nurturing young talent. Dr.B.Navaneethan, Director of Physical Education, PSGCAS spearheaded the arrangements for the prestigious event.
