Sankara Polytechnic observes National Science Day with inter school science fair

Mr. T.P. Ramachandran, Managing Trustee and Secretary of Sankara Educational Institutions, presided over the inauguration of Science Fair. Dr. D. Nalini, Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She delivered a special address on technological advancements in the field of science and innovations in scientific research. Mr. T.V. Pattabiraman, Trustee, Sankara Educational Institutions graced the occasion and delivered a special address to motivate more students in pursuit of science. Mr. A. Balasubramanian, Principal, Sankara Polytechnic College welcomed the gathering while Mrs.R.Vijayalakshmi, Head, Department of Mathematics, delivered the vote of thanks.
Following the function, the SCIENCE FAIR 2026, exhibition of projects took place. Around 400 students from nearly 25 schools participated in the event. They displayed various scientific models in different applications from rain water harvesting to robotics to earthquake detection systems to traffic management. The passion of the students in creation of the model, their understanding of the problem, creative thinking for solutions and eloquence in presentation were highly appreciated by the jury members and the faculty and students of Sankara Polytechnic college. The event concluded with presentation of prizes and certificates to the winners. The event was a fitting tribute to the purpose of National Science Day which foresees more participation of young people in intense scientific pursuits.
