Study World College organises workshop on UAV & Drones
Study World College of Engineering
Study World College of Engineering (SWCE) organised a two day hands on workshop on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) & Drone Technology in the college premises on 26th February 2026 and 27th February 2026.
The objective of the Hands-on Workshop on UAV & Drone Technology was to provide participants with practical exposure to the design, assembly, programming, and operation of unmanned aerial vehicles. With the caption "Design, Assemble, Program. Fly", the workshop aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications by introducing core principles of aerodynamics, flight control systems, sensors, and communication technologies.
The workshop was open to all people interested in UAV and Drone Technology from school students, college students, teachers, research scholars, drone enthusiasts and start up companies. The workshop was conducted under the auspices of Dr.K.Geetha, Principal, SWCE, Mr.M.M.Manoharan, Administrative Officer, Dr.P.Gomathi, Chief Operating Officer and Dr.Vidhya Vinod, Chairperson, Study World Group of Institutions.
The workshop was inaugurated on February 26 2026 in the presence of Dr.S.Selva Kumaran, HoD, EEE and Dr. S.Kannadhasan, HoD ECE. A total of 50 participants participated in the two day hands on workshop and gained experience in drone simulation, live flight demonstrations, and safety protocols. Over the period of two days, the participants were exposed to UAV Fundamentals, Drone Assembly, Flight Controller Configuration,. UAV Programming & Calibration, Live Flight Demonstration and Safety protocols. The workshop facilitators ensured smooth blending of theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
The participants acknowledged that the well planned and well organised workshop helped improves technical confidence in UAV and Drone Technology and equips them with industry-relevant skills that support future career opportunities in the domain.
