Mr. Saurav Kumar, IRPFS, has completed three successful years as Divisional Security Commissioner of the Railway Protection Force, Salem Division, before moving to a new posting. During his tenure, he strengthened crime prevention, passenger safety and staff welfare while closely coordinating with the GRP.
Major achievements include solving multiple inter-state robbery cases, recovering stolen property, arresting organised criminal gangs, and using digital forensics and CCTV surveillance to crack high-value thefts. The division also intensified operations against drug trafficking, seizing narcotics worth several crores and arresting dozens of offenders.
Under his leadership, CCTV coverage expanded across major stations, rescue operations for stranded children and elderly passengers increased, and Salem Division won awards for best performance and passenger security. Known for his humane and approachable leadership style, Mr. Kumar earned the trust of RPF personnel through strong focus on welfare and teamwork.
