Varun and Dube Star as India Register Fourth Consecutive Victory
India defeated the Netherlands by 17 runs to record their fourth consecutive win in the T20 World Cup, with Shivam Dube starring with 66 and earning Player of the Match.
India registered their fourth consecutive victory in the T20 World Cup by defeating the Netherlands by 17 runs in a Group A match.
After winning the toss, India chose to bat first. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan walked out to start the innings.
Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck for the third consecutive time in the tournament, bowled by Aryan Dutt, shocking the Indian fans. Ishan Kishan scored 18 runs before also getting bowled by Aryan Dutt.
Tilak Varma scored 31, while captain Suryakumar Yadav added 34 before getting out. At that stage, India were struggling at 110/4.
Shivam Dube Shines with Explosive 66
Coming in at No. 5, Shivam Dube played a brilliant innings, smashing six sixes and four boundaries to score 66 runs off just 31 balls. All-rounder Hardik Pandya contributed 30 runs off 21 balls, including three sixes. India finished their innings at 193/6 in 20 overs, with Rinku Singh unbeaten on 6.
For the Netherlands, Logan van Beek took three wickets, while Aryan Dutt claimed two.
Netherlands Fall Short at 176/7
Chasing 194, the Netherlands scored 176/7 in 20 overs and fell short by 17 runs. Bas de Leede scored 33, Zach Lion-Cachet made 26, Noah Croes added 25, and Michael Levitt scored 24.
For India, Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets, while Shivam Dube picked up two.
With this win, India finished unbeaten in all four matches of Group A and qualified for the Super 8 stage. Shivam Dube was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
