Three cheetah cubs have been born in Madhya Pradesh, bringing good news for wildlife conservation in India. With the birth of these cubs, the total number of cheetahs in the country has increased to 38.
As part of India’s cheetah reintroduction and rehabilitation efforts, 20 cheetahs were brought into the country from abroad in 2022. The initiative aims to restore cheetahs to their natural habitat after they became extinct in India decades ago.
The birth of the new cubs is seen as a major success for the conservation programme and a positive sign for the long-term survival of cheetahs in India.
