According to Sri Lankan media reports, the Iranian naval vessel was struck during military operations targeting Iranian forces amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Following the attack, the warship reportedly sank in the sea, leaving several sailors stranded in the waters. Sri Lankan naval personnel carried out a rescue operation and successfully saved 30 sailors from the sinking vessel.
The rescued sailors were reportedly provided with medical assistance and necessary support by the Sri Lankan Navy after being brought to safety.
The incident highlights the growing maritime risks linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and other countries in the region.
