Online FDP on NDT for Infrastructure inaugurated at CIET

An online Faculty Development Programme titled " Sustainability-Driven NDT Approaches for Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure" organised by Department of Civil Engineering, Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology began on Monday, 22 December 2025.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. K.A. Chinnaraju, Director, in the presence of Shri M. Thangavelu, Treasurer, and Dr. K. Manikanda Subramanian, Principal, CIET. The programme scheduled for a week from Monday, 22 December 2025 to Friday, 27 December 2025 would help the participants enhance their knowledge and understanding of fundamentals and recent trends related to Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and its applications in infrastructure.
A team of 12 eminent people drawn both from academicia as well as industry will serve as resource persons and transfer their immense wisdom to the participants. Dr. D. Rajkumar, Professor of Civil Engineering, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, and Er. Dhruvesh Shah, Managing Partner, Vector Corrosion Technologies Ltd., Canada, served as the resource persons on the first day of the programme.
Dr.P.Magudeswaran, Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology, and the Convenor of the FDP informed that 82 participants representing reputed academic institutions, government departments, and leading industries across the country are a part of this programme. Prof.G.R.Seenivasan and Prof.K.Revathi are the coordinators of this well designed and well organised programme. The programme will be conducted online via Google Meet from 10.30 AM to 12.00 Noon in the forenoon session and from 02.00 PM to 03.30 PM in the afternoon session.
