Gold prices in Chennai continued their downward trend for the fourth consecutive day on March 19, recording a sharp decline.

The price of one sovereign (8 grams) of gold has dropped by ₹2,160 and is now being sold at ₹1,14,400. The price per gram has also fallen significantly and currently stands at ₹14,300.

Gold prices have been steadily decreasing over the past few days. At the beginning of the week, on Monday, the price dropped to ₹1,17,680 per sovereign. The decline continued on Tuesday, with gold priced at ₹1,17,200, followed by ₹1,16,560 on Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, the market witnessed a major fall, marking the fourth consecutive day of decline in gold prices.

Silver prices have also seen a sharp drop. The price of silver has decreased by ₹10,000 per kilogram and is now being sold at ₹2,65,000 per kg. On a per gram basis, silver is priced at ₹265.

The continuous fall in gold and silver prices is being closely watched by jewellery buyers and investors, as it presents a potential opportunity for purchases amid fluctuating market conditions.
