Dr GRD College Students embark on Menstrual Health Awareness at GGHSS Sulur

A menstrual health awareness initiative was conducted at Governnment Girls Higher Secondary School, Sulur, Coimbatore, on Wednesday, 04 February 2026 by students of Master of International Business programme, Dr GR Damodaran College of Science, Coimbatore. The initiative took place at the school premises in the presence of Mrs. Geetha, Head Mistress of the school and witnessed active participation from students of the higher secondary sections.
The programme was held with the aim of educating young girls on menstrual health, hygiene, and wellbeing. The initiative was undertaken by a team led by Dharshana, Grace Sandra, Krithik Ragavan and their classmates. The initiative was done as part of a social initiative from the institution. The session focused on creating awareness about the menstrual cycle, addressing common misconceptions, and promoting healthy and hygienic practices among adolescent girls. As part of the programme, the students donated a Napkin Disposal Machine worth ₹15,000 to the school. The facility is expected to benefit approximately 400 girls studying in the higher secondary section, ensuring safe, hygienic, and environmentally responsible disposal of sanitary waste within the school campus.
The Headmistress expressed her thanks to the students for their timely contribution. The students felt enlightened after the well planned and delivered sessions. They were able to interact easily and better as the initiative was led by college students. The organising team from Dr GRD College expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the leadership and the faculty members for their continuous guidance and unwavering support from the inception of the initiative. They believed that they could conduct more such programmes and drive meaningful social impact.
