A Seminar on Design, Development and Thermal Management of EV Battery was organised by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Institution Innovation Council of Sri Ranaganthar Institute of Engineering and Technology (SRIET) on Monday, 22 December 2025.
Mr.S.Santhosh Kumar, CEO of eBasic Coimbatore served as the resource person for the seminar and curated the concepts behind EV battery in a six hour long technical session. Mr.Santhosh explained that importance of EV Battery in the current scenario. He explained the technical nuances of EV battery in a lucid manner. From an electrical engineering perspective, he outlined the salient features involved in design of EV batteries. He emphasised the practical difficulties from design stage to development stage with many examples. He concluded with the thermal management of EVs and Hybrid systems in different scenarios and requested the students to research on the flexibility and added benefits of thermal management systems for Indian conditions.
Dr Leena Rose, HoD, Department of EEE and Convenor of the seminar welcomed the gathering. Prof.Palani Kumar, AP, Department of EEE and Coordinator of the seminar proposed the Vote of Thanks. Dr.H.Ganesan, Principal, SRIET delivered a special address motivating the students towards continuous learning. A total of 50 students from the college participated and benefited from the seminar. The students were appreciative of the seminar as it was very relevant and eloquent.
