Workshop on Financial Management at Akshaya College

Akshaya College of Engineering and Technology organised a workshop on Personal Finance Management for their faculty members at Conference Hall in the campus on Thursday, 19 December 2026. The Workshop was organised by Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) and Innovation and Entrepreunership Development Centre (IEDC) of the college. The workshop was facilitated by renowned wealth coach Mr. Gowtham Dhamotharasamy. 

Mr Gowtham Dhamotharasamy engaged the faculty members straightaway posing the question "Are you financially fit". Then he explained the different facets of financial fitness and using his worksheets, the faculty members were able to evaluate the financial fitness of different people at different scenarios. He explained the nuances of basic financial management with some local examples. He introduced the concept of smart money management, financial planning and achieving financial freedom. His analogies reflected well with the lifestyle of academic fraternity and that helped the audience connect to the concept easily. He presented the various financial instruments available and concluded with his mantra that the choice of financial goals and the instrument to use it are best judged by the people themselves. The faculty members were highly appreciative of the lecture and mentioned that it gave them a new perspective and confidence towards financial management. 

Prof.P.Sathish, IEDC Coordinator welcomed the gathering while Prof.R.Kathirvel delivered the thanks giving. Dr.K.Sivasankari, Vice Principal presided the meeting and delivered the presidential address. Around 60 faculty members of Akshaya College of Engineering and Technology participated in this workshop.
