French President Emmanuel Macron Arrives in India, Meets PM Modi
French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in India on a three-day visit and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss cooperation in AI, technology, defense manufacturing, and bilateral relations.
French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in India with his wife Brigitte Macron on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His aircraft first landed in Mumbai, where he was welcomed at the airport by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Macron later visited the memorial of the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks and paid tribute by laying a wreath in their honor.
Following this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Emmanuel Macron at Lok Bhavan, the Maharashtra Governor’s residence in Mumbai. Modi warmly welcomed Macron with a hug at the entrance of the Governor’s residence.
During the visit, the two leaders are expected to discuss key issues including cooperation in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and strengthening bilateral relations between India and France.
They are also likely to hold talks on joint production of military helicopters and missiles. A decision regarding the procurement of Rafale fighter jets may also be discussed during the meeting.
