Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin announced that ₹5,000 has been credited to the bank accounts of women beneficiaries under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme.

According to the announcement, the amount includes ₹1,000 for February, ₹2,000 as advance for March and April, and an additional ₹2,000 as special summer assistance, totaling ₹5,000 provided to beneficiaries.

In his message, the Chief Minister stated that the scheme, launched in September 2023, has been successfully supporting women and recognizing their contribution to society. Initially benefiting 1.13 crore women, the scheme has now been expanded to cover 1.31 crore women heads of families.

He emphasized that the financial assistance helps women manage household expenses, medical needs, and children’s education, empowering them financially. He also urged beneficiaries to use the amount carefully and try to save for the next three months.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the scheme and announced that the monthly assistance would be increased to ₹2,000 in the future, promising continued support for women’s welfare and economic empowerment in Tamil Nadu.
