Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced a 20 percent capital subsidy for the purchase of advanced weaving and knitting machinery while addressing the International Textile Industry Conference held at the CODISSIA complex in Coimbatore via video conference.
The Chief Minister said the initiative aims to encourage textile manufacturers to adopt modern technology, improve productivity, and strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position as a leading hub for the textile and garment industry. Industry representatives welcomed the announcement, calling it a significant boost for small and medium-scale textile units.
The subsidy is expected to support modernization efforts and enhance competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
